Amazon Rainforest Tour that you will love!  We offer several amazon rainforest tours such as short jungle hikes in our Huasquila Amazon Lodge property or long expeditions in the community areas around us. Our native guides who take pride in their knowledge of their ancestors, will take you through the rainforest and show you how they use medicinal plants, which plants are used to build their bungalows, and introduce you to plants such as guayusa used daily for tea, and others used in the Kichwa culture, as well as endemic plants such as heliconias and bromeliads.

Amazon Tours – Rainforest Animals

Only 3 km from Huasquila Amazon Lodge there is an wild animal rescue center called “El Arca Zoo”, although not a zoo but more of a rescue center, this rainforest animal center is recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment and where you can see a wide variety of Amazon rainforest animals here.

Amazon Jungle Tours Caves

The Sacred Valley of Cotundo has a 3 km system of caves that include the Elephant cave, the Spiritual Temple cave and the Jumandi caves. Huasquila Amazon Logde offers you the opportunity to visit them in a safe way under native and naturalists guides and discover this fascinating underground world full of stalagmites and stalactites.

If you don't want to venture off to far away from Huasquila Amazon Lodge, you can also venture with our local indigenous guides down an hour to our local caves where you will see amazing insect and bat life, and hike out through our amazing waterfall, an unbelievable experience of Amazon Rainforest Tour.

Amazon Jungle Tours – Waterfalls, Cascades, Rivers & Lagoons.

Huasquila Amazon Lodge is in walking distance of many waterfalls, cascades and rivers. Due to our location in the Amazon rainforest we have lots of tropical lush vegetation and lots of bodies of water in general. Walk down our jungle trails and find two large (over 50 feet high) waterfalls and over 10 minor but beautiful sparkling water cascades, formed by the topographies of small and large cliffs.

Napo, Ecuador has some of the world's highest concentrations of rivers per square mile, thanks to its abundant rainfall and the massive Andean mountain range descending through the Antisana Reserve.

In addition we organize jungle tours to various waterfalls in the Napo Archidona area, usually 1 day tours, where you will hike in the jungle, with a local guide and learn about medicinal plants, plants used for food, plants used for clothing for their fiber, and plants used construction of traditional Kitchwa housing.

Afterwards you will reach magnificent waterfalls such as "Pinpilala" and the "Face of the Devil” and end your trip on a canyon where a 50 feet high waterfall meets a magnificent rainforest lagoon where you will have lunch and enjoy a relaxing swim in these amazon jungle waters described by our guests as a "jungle fairytale experience".

The children can also explore the Amazon at night to look for bugs, frogs and bats.

Another fun trip for kids is not too far away, at the Anzu River, which is a level II river where children from 6 years on can experience a rafting trip!

At the lodge they can learn about Amazon animals such as bats through special art and crafts offered by Huasquila Amazon.  As part of their contribution to the bat conservation program, kids will learn about the importance of bats, which contribute greatly to the reforestation at Huasquila that started 8 years ago. The bats help by spreading the seeds, since most of them are fruit eaters, and we have just

learned in cooperation with biologists from the “Catholic University”, that there is one type of bat which eats only mosquitoes, the reason why we can't find any at Huasquila!
